The Stradivarius Code
Music, Nature, Number Theory, and the Great Violins

The secrets of Stradivari are at last revealed in this brilliant book by a world-renowned violinist

ESTIMATED PUBLICATION DATE: WINTER 2022

The violins by the celebrated maker Antonio Stradivari are highly coveted worldwide since the 18th century. They have served as the exemplar for many violin makers to copy. But the reasons behind their spectacular tonal and visual qualities remain elusive to violin makers and other experts, and are subject to wide debate

The Stradivarius Code is the result of countless hours spent in research and analysis of these instruments. It reveals the astonishing links between music, nature, number theory, and the violins made by this extraordinary man. Using it, a maker can now understand the design concepts behind these violins, exactly recreate Stradivari's designs or use this information to create variations while following the codes, or philosophy, behind their renowned characteristics.

The Stradivarius Code is an adventure through time and space. It examines the roles of nature, physics, music, measurement, and aesthetics, from the earliest cave dwellers through 17th century northern Italy, and how they relate directly to the violins by Antonio Stradivari.

The story begins with a legendary violin known as the "Messiah Stradivarius," which has been regarded for centuries as the most valuable as best preserved of all of his violins. But a controversy erupts and plunges the violin world into a dispute. Is this the most perfect Stradivari violin - worth perhaps US$20,000,000 or is it a fake?
